VANCOUVER, British Columbia — Wild general manager Paul Fenton said Tuesday he isn’t panicking in the wake of his team’s first three-game losing streak this season.
The Wild were set to meet the Canucks in a 9 p.m. puck drop on the heels of losses to Arizona, Columbus and Toronto. Before that skid, they had won 8 of 11 games.
“I’m not shocked; hockey’s a roller coaster,” said Fenton, who replaced Chuck Fletcher as general manager in May. “You had a great feeling, things were going your way, and right now things didn’t. I really liked our effort the other night against Toronto. I felt we deserved better. That’s the way of hockey.”
Speaking before Tuesday night’s game at Rogers Arena, Fenton was asked whether he is motivated to make any moves to shore up the roster.
“I’m going to do it on my timetable,” he said. “I’m not going to let a couple of losses turn things in a different direction for me. I will continue to evaluate our team, see if there’s something that’s going to fit for us. That’s the path I’m going to take.”
FALSE ALARM
The fire alarm went off in the Wild’s hotel about 2 a.m. Tuesday, prompting an evacuation notice and fire department inspection.
That is typically a trick opposing fans pull during the playoffs to disrupt the sleep of the visiting club, not a prank for a December regular-season game.
Apparently only one Wild player evacuated — seven-year NHL vet J.T. Brown.
Boudreau was on the 15th floor.
“I poked my head out, didn’t see any smoke or anything, so I thought, there’s no way; I’m chancing it,” Boudreau said.

Winger Matt Hendricks, limited to just eight games and been a healthy scratch for phe last six, was poised to join the lineup against Vancouver on the fourth line with Eric Fehr and Jordan Greenway, leaving Brown the odd-man out.
